We need to get the timely hit. But I will say that we are going toe to toe with this team.
Tomorrow would be a huge boost for a win.

Play two close games with a top 25 team and people already penciling is in for no regionals...
Special bunch.
Same excuses as the last two years.
"This is a quality arm"
"this is a good team"
"Hit it hard but right at them"
Have some perspective, our Friday night guy hadn’t pitched in 2 years...we were throwing guys that everyone had to look to see who they were and we definitely SHOULD be playing for the series tomorrow. 2 defensive plays and we are going fir the sweep. It’s f’n Texas not Sienna
1. We are playing a top 25 team and have lost by 1 twice.
2. The bats have been quiet, especially in clutch situations.
3. Defense and base running have been disappointing.
All of these are true. After two games, does it mean we are going to have repeats of 2017 & 18? Way too early to judge.
The real test will be how Wells works with the hitters during this time as they struggle. We aren't going to win the conference this weekend.
The overreaction so far is a joke. Watch the games. If coastal is what we think they are, I won’t claim we’ll beat them but we’ll finish second in a multi bid league. This team will win a lot of games.
Two pitchers need to be recognized. Brooks Batty threw 3 shutout innings and true freshman Jacob Schultz from Sulphur HS threw 2.1 shutout innings in his first college game.
