BILOXI — The Mississippi Surge saw their six-game winning streak come to grinding halt as the Louisiana Ice Gators took a 5-3 victory on Sunday before an announced crowd 2,619 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.

“As we get closer and closer to playoff time each win will get tougher as teams are fighting for seeding,” Surge coach Steffon Walby said.

“Those guys over there (Louisiana) are fighting for a playoff spot; we have a lot of games at the end with Pensacola and Louisiana.”
