As far as being a cheerleader type, you have to throw that in at some point in your delivery. But if you can find a better voice for a PA man, let me know. I have been knowing TD for 30 years and he was born for radio......

He's good enough that the Sun Belt flies him in every year to do the tournament. He couldn't do it last year because of illness. But he'll be there in March.

So yeah, I’ve definitely not been announcing for 21 years. There have been many better voices before me, but I was lucky enough to fill that spot since TD left.

When I was a Freshman during the 1998 season, Coach Robe called me down from the press box during a game and told me that he wanted an atmosphere. He told me to listen at how quiet it was in the stadium and how we needed to find a way to get people excited about the game.

So the next game I started with upgrading the music. And then throwing in funny (and annoying) sound effects I downloaded from random internet sites. And giving players the chance to have walk up music. And knowing when to blast music to keep the momentum on our side. It’s grown into what the “Tigue” is today.

It has been a fun ride. I grew up at that ballpark, beginning with serving as batboy for my brother’s American Legion team back in 1990. It wasn’t an easy decision but I’ll always be tuned in from wherever I am and will forever be a Cajun.
