One of the (many) things that impressed me yesterday:

This team will make you pay if you blink. It seems every time Cal made a mistake the Cajuns capitalized.

Smart base running too. Twice we forced errors on ground balls by our base runners stalling ever so slightly in line of sight of the fielder causing them to lose focus and misplay the ball.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think it's smart what they did. And helpful to us as well. They referred to us as Louisiana first, and then the full name. There are many, many people around the country who still aren't familiar with "Louisiana". Anyone who sees this schedule, will see "Louisiana" with the Ragin Cajuns logo, and then see the other. If said person wasn't sure about Louisiana, they know exactly who it was, and possibly bring attention to the new brand.

Or maybe I'm just a little optimistic.

I love the plate discipline on this team. They don't swing at a lot of bad pitches and they don't strike out much.

Summer didn't throw a ton of pitches in game one so I'm not surprised she started game two. There may be a time in the season when she has to throw a ton of pitches. She wasn't tested over the weekend so this was probably a good move.

I like this team. A lot.

Agree.....as an example two of the at bats that Lexie had in the 2nd game were real gems. Working the pitcher for a walk to drive in a run but the 2nd was a real thing of beauty......worked the pitcher into the ground and got the pitch she wanted....drove it into left for the single that scored two runs. A lot of great at bats by a lot of different players in both games yesterday.

They may be doing some "remodeling" to their field this year. Cal doesn't play a home game until March 23rd. That's one long road trip.
