Out the east GS will be the standard, I think App will take a huge step down Troy as well, Costal is going to be nothing in football & GAST will continue to be a joke.
With that synopsis of the Belt it sounds like we can get 9 wins by just showing up. I think you underestimate the winning tradition of AppSt and Troy.

If Hudspeth was getting the job done he’d still be here, or gotten a P5 job. Don’t want to keep trashing the guy, let’s back our current coach whose done a fantastic job

To answer your question...Approximately 20. He will now have 50 of his players. I did take a look and thought we overachieved last year. 100% credit goes to Napier and his staff. But I can see it for what it was...a limited roster that came together beautifully. That is not a recipe for sustained success. This year we still have question marks at the same positions we had last year. If we hit on the QB and 5-6 defensive players we can most definitely improve. We also have an easier schedule, so that should be good for an additional win. Love where we are headed, but I am not the least bit worried about losing our coach. That was my point.

They both will still be a handfull but won't be knocking off P5 on a yearly bases. This is the first time App has had to transition to a new coach outside of thier program since joining FBS . APP has never been a team with a ton of talent they are just extremely well coached can't guarantee that under their new coach .. Troy is loaded but lost a generational coach for them & will be hard to duplicate Brown's success

As far as the other teams the last 10 years we have just showed up with little prep and won.

I'm not worried about losing the man either. Heck, I want to lose him to a P5 program in record time because of the implications that goes with the scenario.

My point was that, at least to me, the man exceeded expectations in most every way possible. The only letdown I felt during the entire season was the loss to Coastal. Win that one and Napier's body of work would have looked all the more impressive.

As it relates to filling holes, Jesus, I don't think we could have asked for much more with this class that he recruited. An amazingly balanced class, most all of them solid 3 stars, a few beasts, and virtually every need we had, addressed.

I'm convinced that Maggard hit a 500 foot home run with this hire.

Now you are creating expectation much higher than deserved. He signed no one on the early signing date last year. To throw up a 20 on him for last year is very unfair. He took what he could get.

Vic, I recalled that he signed no one in Dec because he said there just wasn't enough time and it wasn't fair to the kids to ask them to sign before he and the staff could meet them. As for the "20" number provided by Metry, it sounded high to me. How many did Napier bring in?

All I'm saying is that whoever he signed last year, it was after everybody else got what they could in December. His pickings were from what was left. Take away our December signings from this year and have him sign what is left - what does our class look like this year. You can't hang 20 (or whatever he signed last year) on him as a class of the class.

Signed 18 in the 2018 class, McCaskill dismissed, so 17 now. Add the 28 from this season and he is at 45. I am fine with saying half the recruits are now Napier's ... however, the vast majority are Fr & Soph. We will have better size, speed and depth next season, but we will need to avoid the injury bug. We were fairly healthy this season, which helped with our results.

    That makes perfect sense.

Keep that on the low down. Don’t want to many getting comfortable.
