I must watch a different team than you. We are devoid of playmakers on the defensive side of the ball and only have a few difference makers on the entire team. If we are lucky we will have a few more in this years class.
The way this team is currently constructed we cannot beat a P5 team unless they are in a complete rebuild mode like a Kansas or Arkansas.
I expect the path to having a serviceable defense will be difficult and may take a couple of years. At this point I am actually more worried about UL being mediocre in football than someone taking our coach. If Napier can develop a QB and somehow fill all the holes we have on defense this year I will start worrying about losing him to a high profile program.
I want every coach we hire to recruit better than his predecessors. IMO to be most successful as a stepping stone program we need a staff to stay together for 3-4 years and then get hired away.
