UL Hall of Famer, Garret O'Conner, has passed away.
RIP Garret. Can’t imagine the struggles he must have been going through.
So sad. I used to chat with at him at Chris’ Po Boys, and we always talked UL baseball. He was a really nice guy. Life can be cruel sometimes.
Knew him from folks at Chris's..
My knowing Garrett was more from his years as an umpire in the Lafayette Association. He umpired a ton of games at the Tigue and was a Sun Belt umpire for several years as well.
Garrett coached me in fall ball years ago!
Great guy and will be missed!
I saw Garret 4 weeks ago at Chris’s and noticed his health was in decline but had no idea of his illness. Can you disclose cause of death? 🙏🙏🙏
Understood. I pray he’s at peace now.
I can't believe it. He taught me how to pitch when I was 8 years old. I will never forget him. Rest in Peace.
Had several classes at UL with Garrett. I still remember talking to him after he got drafted about his plans for minor league ball. Very sad news, prayers for him and the family. RIP Garrett
Garretts Dad and my Dad (RIP Gents) taught together in the early 70's at LJ Alleman. He was a fine man, raised some fine sons. Be at peace Garrett.

I too watched Garret play ball and then umpirebut know him from when we served together on the UL Baseball ⚾️ Excutive Committee! Wife and I would go to his place and eat some good PoBoys he would come over and talk a bit as he did with most everyone! That was one very nice man. He sent UL sports many many PoBoys, RIP. Condolences to his family
