    Actually......since I am an Hebert....and lived two seperate times for a total of 20 years in Houston. I've found that East of Houston from the Dayton/Liberty area to the Sabine river the name is for the most part pronounced properly. In Houston they seem to want to pronounce it "Herbert". I haven't a clue why they wanted to add a spare letter to my name.

    Wasn't there a running back for the Cajuns named Barry Herbert once? I think he was from Abbeville.
