Thread: Cajuns get their heads above water in Sun Belt play

  1. UL Basketball Cajuns get their heads above water in Sun Belt play

There’s still a long, long way to go — 11 games in fact.

But there was just a small sense of the UL Ragin’ Cajuns getting their heads above water for the first time since Sun Belt Conference play began after Saturday’s 86-81 win over Troy at the Cajundome

    😂😂😂

Ya know that we’re tied for 5-7. Epic isn’t the word I’d use. Oh! How about average, mediocre, okay, not bad.

Right now I’d be happy if we can hold serve at home and pull off a few upsets on the road.

You Doubting Thomases are going to look awfully silly when Big Fish wins ten games in March.

Good. We should be living up to our “standard.” That nice gym that we have is starting to pay off dividends.

At this stage, I am happy for the guys that are working so hard to improve and getting rewarded for their efforts. The coaching staff is helping them of course but their potential may be limited due to their issues. Those include lack of athleticism making it tough on them defensively, rebounding concerns due to playing three guards most of the time, and lack of quality depth. Those will be tough to overcome in many games even if John Wooden was coaching them. In the last few games they have done a good job of managing these issues which gives them a chance. On the positive side, the improved perimeter shooting is a nice development. Having four guys being able to hit them gives you a chance as any one of them could be ready to go off on any given night. As the coaching situation is not going to change this year or next for better or worse, I suggest we focus on the team itself. As evidenced by a good atmosphere last night, many are doing exactly that.

What a Scrooge. A couple of good good games and positive posts and this.

If you do not want to fish or you do not like BIG FISH, get out of the boat.
