    8. Alexis Mack, the center fielder, has also flown the coop.

Balint and Mack will sit out the 2019 season and are slated to join White at Texas for 2020. But they are in the portal, so they are fair game.

Did you read her release about "It has been my lifelong dream to to once again play for the man who originally led me to love, respect, and play this game. Now, I've been given the opportunity to allow that dream to come full circle, and it was an opportunity I was unable to overlook". Unless that man leaves after this year, you would assume she will be here. I think it he does leave, it won't be to be an assistant at another university. JMO

You also see recruits say im 1000% committed to univ x then few weeks later bounce somwhere else not saying she will but there is always that risk

This is already a somber enough morning. Can you see if the captain of your vessel has a dry blanket to loan you for today at least.

In an article posted today Balint says she is finishing up her degree requirements and will open up to recruiting in two or three weeks.

if you join the portal this late, do you lose this season’s eligibility?

It depends on the timing. Some schools have not started the spring semester yet. You do have to be enrolled in school to be eligible to play. I expect that once the spring semester begins it would be too late to play this season.
