I thought I would be over it by today. Turns out, I keep finding more and more reasons to continue the five stages of grief after the Saints loss to the Rams in the NFC Championship game.
That game was fixed. No way two ref's from the west coast will let a call that gives a first down on the 3-4 yard line with under two minutes to play happen. That black ref. was five yards from the play with a side few of both the receiver and cheap shot ram player. The ball was 5-6 feet from them when the receiver was knocked on his A&&.........
The reporter asked a follow-up question: "You said you didn't see the play, correct?"
Vinovich replied: "Correct."
That's all well and good, but the thing with the NFL is that there are cameras everywhere. Vinovich, as a referee who sees multiple camera angles on every replay, has to know that. So he had to have known that footage would emerge of him staring directly at the play.
Vinovich's answer was a complete and total cop-out. And it was also proven with video evidence to be a lie.
Los Angeles Ram cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman has been fined $26,739 for a controversial helmet-to-helmet hit that was not called during the NFC Championships against the Saints._
Apparently Rams cornerback is being fined to helmet to helmet hit on Lewis! What about the ref that Attis there and watched the hit yet didn't throw a flag??? What's his punishment???
“It’s a judgment call by the officials,” Vinovich said. “I personally have not seen the play.”
Vinovich's answer was a complete and total cop-out. And it was also proven with video evidence to be a lie.
Sergeant Schultz "I know NOTHING!"
I've never felt that they would or should do something like play the last couple minutes over again and I feel that the lawsuits are a joke. What I have been wondering is why the league has not disciplined these guys or possibly terminated them to this point. Maybe firing any/all crew is drastic but certainly a suspension for X amount of games or months or whatever but they should be held to a standard as well and accountable for actions or in this case, non actions.
