And that wasn't a MISSED call, that was a NO CALL.....

but referees are supposed to be consistent and call the same no matter when and where, by bringing into the conversation thinks like importance of game, time of game etc, you go against that principle of consistancy. it is impossible to have both. missing the call or not is a different conversation. a simpler example is shouldnt the same pitch be a strike in first inning of fall ball as it is in ninth inning of super regional?
The response should be swift from the NFL but we know that it will not be. The two nearest refs should be fired and the head ref demoted. Any other ref watching the play should be suspended. But, as I noted, the NFL got what it wanted with LA going to the SB. Thus, all we will get is a public fussing but a behind the scene high five to the crew.
face guarding is a stupid penalty. if you dont touch the guy, what harm is there in face guarding. plus i saw a game recently where no contact face guarding was allowed, dont recall who.... would be interesting to know the origin and rationale for when it was a penalty
The NFL was set to release a statement but changed their mind because they (lawyers) couldn’t agree on the language in the statement. Follow the money. LA market struggling to gain support. What better way than to get their team in the Super Bowl. There were tons of non-calls during the game. The refs clearly played a part in the outcome of the game.
or should the whole playoff system be looked at? can you truly say a team is better if they dont have to play any road playoff games? i cant think of any other sport, except college baseball/softball that allows that.... the saints had the lead when the crowd had rams confused. rams figured it out somewhat (still never perfectly) but were leading that portion of the game.
technically in mlb and nba the one seed could win it without a road win, but they at least have to play the road games and would have backs against the wall on return home
