Keith Richard hasn’t done either accomplishment and gets paid a lot less. Marlin actually did more when he was paid less. So I totally agree what were we thinking by giving an extension and raise.

If the rumor is true that this is a “forgiven” year because of injury, I’ve just lost a ton of respect for Bryan Maggard and company. You don’t win 27 games, FAIL TO REACH THE FINALS OF THE SBC TOURNEY with said 27 win team, return 3 starters and 3 others that played significant minutes, including the best player in the league, and get to claim injuries (of which we have ONE proven player hurt) as the reason.
This gets more and more laughable. Cajun basketball is dead. It will take an act of the almighty to resurrect it.
MAT, just look at the excuses being spewed for every shortcoming that our basketball season has endured.
They include:
A) “Player X got injured”
B) “We lost 3 1000 point scorers last season” C) “We are the standard. Therefore, teams play us as if it’s their game of the year, so we always get everybody’s best shot”
D) “It’s just hard to make the tournament these days”
There’s no accountability with this team. It’s always some external force causing us to lose games. But remember, we are still a big deal.
The thing that is scary is the only athletic front court player on the team is graduating. Unless the st Louis transfer is Gant level or better, which I doubt, next year will be more of the same. Just too little athleticism in the front court. Miller is simply a bad joke. Throwing up 3s for no reason. Not athletic enough for winning basketball.
....Thought in my 2 years at St. Louis HS we were doing a damn good job on defense as we led the league in least points scored against us......then I realized how much running a slower offense kicked into the stat....then opponents tempo, rebounding, and our stressing tough zone defense....oh and there was the 17-15 loss to Kinder..... Yea we slowed it down at times but it evened the earlier 50 pt loss up a bit!!!
Great to hear about the st Louis kid. The thing is we need at least 3 athletic front court players to win against real teams. Where are the other 2 players going to come from? Unless we can pull 2 rabbits out of the hat this recruiting period it looks bleak for next year.
