Thread: Every Call Matters

  1. Default Re: Every Call Matters

Don't y'all know that stepping on an opponents foot and de-shoeing him is an automatic travel reset button?

Neither the traveling nor the charge is reviewable.

Why didn't they call it in the first place? Jesus, how many steps does he get without dribbling before it's a travel?

Apparently. Why not just grab the ball at half court, tuck it in, lower your shoulder and run over people until you're close enough to the basket to get a layup? Oh wait, that's what he did. Nevermind.

Maybe to remind us of something we have known for decades, Sunbelt Refs are crappy, stupid, and not worthy of middle school refereeing jobs. It is a crap shoot to see how the will call a game or miss fouls

There are no SBC only refs. Officials are part of an alliance that service other leagues as well as ours.

Jay mentioned that they changed the referee association last year and not for the better.

Below was Jay's comment on the Belt Board.

The travel call was the right call. It's a pretty easy rule.

We all know what happened at the end of the GSU/ULM game. No, the officials aren't trying to make GSU win. That would be a lack of integrity and I don't believe that applies here.

But it was one of the most blatant missed calls I've ever seen. As someone else mentioned, the six guys on the court in the LA/WKU game was the other.

Interesting to note: In that six man game, the lead official has called about a half dozen final fours. Amazed he missed it.

The league went with a new consortium in officiating starting last year. I think the change was a mistake. We've taken a big step back.
