The NCAA should hold firm and require him to sit. He still has a redshirt year to burn. If he didn’t then I could see that as a reason to grant the waiver, but he does has one.

One thing he does have going for him is that it is a "hot bed" issue that could have other legal implications outside of sports. But generally, the NCAA is not inclined to grant these exemptions to avoid opening the flood gates.

I completely agree, however when this type of issue is raised by a protected class, it is treated with kid gloves in any arena. That is the only point I was making.
