I don't remember that being said but it it was, it is not accurate. I think talent is lacking overall with the guys we are putting on the floor now with the exception of the two seniors. Russell was highly thought of as a shooter but his game is limited beyond that. It was great to see him handle the point well the other night so maybe that will help him get out of his slump. Davis was also highly rated but he is a tweener in some regards. He plays inside at 6'6" where he often guards bigger guys while he has trouble guarding quicker guys when he plays the "3" spot. Now, this is my assessment and you can tell I am skeptical of how successful they can be going forward. That is just me talking. The coaches and players still think they can make something of this season.

It may be for the guys we are putting on the floor now and that would be the case regardless of their coach. Need to recruit better players.

Well the first 3 years did not count and 2015 we were rebuilding after EP left so that does not count and 16 does not count because we had 3 transfers sitting out ... so really this is only Marlin's 4th true season

And he has 4 left on contract so that would make the 8 seasons everyone is talking about. I feel confident that if he is given those 8 seasons, he can make it right.

Of course, imagine if he was here for 8 years we would be skull dragging LSU like GAST did to UGA

Dude, you literally bet and guaranteed a W against Mississippi State (laugh out ___king loud) in year 1!!!

Don’t come here now and start throwing around year 1 as a handicap...YOU of all people set the bar high...from Day 1...

And again...I love Napier...this is just a season 1 evaluation...and the results show we did nothing special...just like basketball last year

Placing a bet against a 36 point spread and being a fan hoping to win a game where we had schedule advantages has exactly what to do with my point??

Comparing any coach, in any sport in year 1 to a coach in year 9 is moronic. MORONIC.

Year 1 is not necessarily a handicap. Even if we ignore all of the crap that Napier walked into in year 1, it's patently absurd to compare anything he accomplished or didn't accomplish to a coach that is entrenched and defended by the fanbase in year 9.

C'mon Van.. You're better than that.
