Results have shown that football only beat teams worse than us...that is not a return...I get it's only year 1 and I wholeheartedly believe Napier is the man for the job, but we've got to compare apples-to-apples purely on results...and the results show football did absolutely nothing special this year...if we're going to schit on basketballs 27 wins b/c they were all against worse ranked teams, why are we not doing the same for football?...besides, the narrative also says winning a division title means nothing...if it does mean anything, Big Fish has 3 titles (2011 Div, 2014 Tournament & 2017 League)

There’s no doubt I’m always enjoying a nice Cajuns win. But this is where I have a problem with our basketball program’s mindset. All I’ve heard was hype when we brought in the likes of Gant, Miller, Stroman, Russell, etc.. So now that Marquetti is hurt, we should just cash it in?

I know you’ve mentioned it before, but the injury to Marquetti and the dialogue that has gone with it tells me that either our coaching staff has underachieved in either recruiting or coaching up what we already have. There’s no way that one player should affect our season that much especially if our recruiting was hyped.

Players and coaches are not cashing it in. They are giving it there all. I am just being realistic that there chances for victory on many nights is limited. The recruiting in this freshman class may have been over rated.

This is the year that shows up though as the injuries require depth that is just not there. People brought on in the previous years are contributing. Granted they are not All Conference guys. At least we have three HS freshman coming in that are higher rated than the guys we have brought in recently from HS. Four if you count Julien.

The problem is that we have more than enough talent to carry the load outside of one injury. At least that’s what I was told by the coaching staff after every recruiting class......

I'm not ruling that out, but continuity from altered roles takes more than a week.

I would still consider them overachievers (as would everyone here) if success comes their way.
