Not sure how you're arriving at that conclusion.

Will not at least some of the JC transfers be eligible for 3 years of play? While I'm no fan of constantly loading up on JC transfers because of the associated turnover problems, I can certainly see where bringing in few in to fill holes while our best HS recruits get up to snuff (and up to size) is sound policy.

Im fine with the JUCO guys just we are way more depleted than originally thought especially on defense where we but 20+ scholarships into defense the last 2 classes and still have major holes and depth issues. Shows how mismanagement the program ran under Hudspeth.

Ah okay. On all of that we agree.

Anyone wondering how poorly the defensive side of the ball was managed under the Hud regime need merely go back to the first half of the season........and the second half as well.

It was so bad, linebackers quit the team and a former wide receiver was the starting cornerback. Of all the defensive backs we signed between the 2014-2016 classes, only one cracked the starting lineup this year and he was a 5th year senior. That's telling!

Bro....we need players. Taking JUCO guys with three years left would be no different than starting a redshirt freshman. The only difference is the JUCO guys have documented in-game experience. That mitigates some of the risk of throwing a true freshman out on the field.

If Napier can get one more three year JUCO guy at QB, linebacker and defensive back, we should be set.

Nice summary, much better said than anything I can say, but then again, that's not saying much. LOL

Yes, but it also shows that we are building the program the right way from underneath with HS athletes and better talent. They've proven they can win and rebuild while doing it. Hopefully that will continue this year with an upgrade in QB play and more depth on defense. Will it work out, I think we have a better chance than not with this staff.

A question from a dumb questioner.

Take this guy, Morris Joseph Jr. He's a defensive tackle. Why does he play defense specifically? Is it because of his skill set? Or perhaps he just likes to play defense?

I ask because when I see these guys, they all look pretty much the same to me. Big, strong, heck of a wingspan. What makes one a great offensive lineman versus a great defensive lineman? Are they interchangeable, if not, why not? When a coach looks at them, does he think to himself OL, or DL, or just, oh yeah?

This guy is from Orange. I did some research on him and it cast a lot of doubt on his claim of being innocent. I guess the coaches have done due diligence and he may be fine, but at minimum he may be a little too close to Orange at UL. It sounds like he may have some kind of questionable associates over there.
