If you are into "Adventurous" eating try Alexander's Specialty Meats on Hollywood street. Ox Tails, real Cowboy Stew on Wednesday, smothered turkey necks on Monday. Dwyers has smothered calf tongue on Tuesday.
I know it is gone. But Jim’s fried chicken in New Orleans s used to be the best.
I second Dixie Chicken in Lakeview. Just don't be in a hurry.
This might be the most useful thread on RP in ages!
China One has some really good fried wings!
....When I was coaching years ago at St. Louis in LC there was a place in the hood called BALLS.......years later I walked in one day and I get to the counter....I say....Love that chicken from Popeye I dig the way it fry——some say KFC is the best that there can be.... but I say Reggie Ball got the best of all....got some nods from the brothers!
Don’t care what anyone says. Steven’s has the best fried shrimp in the WORLD. Prove otherwise.
Abbeville version of Stevens is Handy Mart on Port Street. Best fried chicken and fried shrimp in town, plus fried rice. Belongs to Mihn (Bang) Bui, a UL grad, and his family. Can't beat the food or the prices, and the family are very friendly.
