I understand the rational behind your statement, but it doesn't help our overall athletic program to fund MBB program with less and expect even the AAC to look at us seriously. The bottom line is if we can't help them improve their conference strength in football and basketball, we are no help at all. If college baseball and softball had any influence on conference realignment, we would not be in the SBC today.

I have faith in Dr. Maggard and his decision to extend Coach Marlin's contract. I think when it's all said and done, supporters will realize it was the best decision to be made at this time. Yes, I'm apathetic to MBB right now, but do realize that we must do a better job of raising funds and funding the program right now. Coach Marlin is either going to meet the challenge of expectations set forth in his contract or be bought out eventually. The next two years will tell us what we need to know. JMO

70 teams out of 130 playing in football's postseason. Over half.

It is much MUCH harder to make it to basketball postseason.

Well, again, my point of reference was when USL was getting invited to the NCAA playoffs when the tournament consisted of something like 21 teams, TOTAL. If my old brain is failing me, someone correct me please.

There focus and financial support is not on basketball and what I suggest to do here

Year-in, year-out contender for the Access Bowl and Top 25 rated in football, softball a perennial WCWS participant and sometimes national champ, and baseball a perennial Top 25, post-season team usually at least threatening to make the CWS. Oh, we also have basketball coach that consistently wins 3 games in March and there's a women's basketball team thrown in free-of-charge in the deal.

I wonder how many the AAC's current lineup matches something along those lines?

Just for the record football includes additional 32 FCS teams in post season play. Y’all are stretching with the equalizer theory. Just isn’t the same. Go ahead and parce numbers.
