Bryan Maggard would NEVER hire Jesse Evans. We are a little better than mediocrity, but I agree with your overall assessment that we should be better than we are. In terms of sports, I believe the Sun Belt conference hurts us the most in basketball, the league is a one-bid league and doesn't prioritize basketball overall.
Yeah but Wisconsin found out about being on the road in 🏀. So us beating the SLC champs is special.
Here's how special

Well, a win is still a win.. not nearly enough to get the non basketball fan base caring..
If we want big crowds in the dome, 6000 plus, we have to destroy the SLC teams. We have to play an exciting brand of transition basketball with a lot of threes and dunks.
Some seemed excited about a potential loss. Sorry to disappoint.
Turbine, come on man? A basketball loss to SLU is a friggin calamity, a win is a yawner. That’s just telling it like it is.
I'm not sure of the frame of reference. I like the program Marlin has built. Good kids that graduate, which if we remember, is the point. If someone wants 'win at all costs', go watch the NBA. Student-athletes are what the program is about. I would certainly like more success against our peers and I think if that doesn't happen consistently in the 2-3 years, it may be time to look elsewhere. I accept that basketball in the rural South is a hard proposition and I highly doubt if Cajun basketball will ever look like Blackum in the 70's but neither will anywhere else. I do know that the constant _____ing and whining on a message board does zero to advance our program.
I’m gonna reject your opening point. If’n that’s all you’re interested in we need to hire a educator, give out academic scholarships and play in Earl K Long. Of course I think it’s a three legged stool with academic, good citizens, and high athletic success being the three legs.
