What does a minor amount matter? How about an I told you so? Or let’s wager something big, which should be easy for you right? Since you are so confident you are correct?

Interesting comments from the AD just 6 months before dismissal, wonder why he didn’t start talking about firing the coach in May? This coach had a massive buyout
How many years left does Marlin have under his current contract? I’d hate for the university to wait any longer to make a change but I understand finances may dictate that. Giving contract extensions before the current contract is up is something I have never been a big fan of. Get paid for what you have done not for what you may do in the future.
He is a good coach. A lot of good coaches don’t succeed. Coaching isn’t the only aspect of a successful program. Recruiting isn’t the only aspect, graduating players isn’t the only aspect. Several things go into a successful program. What i want to happen and what i think will happen arent the same thing.
We paid Hudspeth less than he was owed due to a provision that the one time payment was less than being paid on a per year basis. I think we paid around 500 m$ total. I bet that applies here. Comments from Maggard were before a game had been played in 2017. Of course he would say that. I also understand that he would not say anything different in regards to basketball at this stage. As far as betting something big, what does that mean? I can tell you 1000 dollars is too big for my taste as my confidence in being right is not that high. I do have confidence in 100 dollars. We can revisit this in 15 months.
I think he has three years after this one. Buyout gets reduced in every succeeding year. That is why no one is suggesting a change will be made after this season. Some believe a buyout will be affordable after the 2019-2020 season. There are a few predictions a change will be made then. If a losing season occurs next year I would agree with those people. A 20 win season against an average schedule at best followed by a loss in the conference semi finals is a scenario which has been common recently. What happens in April of 2020 if that occurs is what this debate centers on. Without the extension, he would have had only one year remaining following this season. A decision would have to have been made in March as it is rare for any administration to let their staff plan for the following year with only one year remaining. I would have been more than OK with waiting until then and I don't know why we did not let this season conclude to make a decision. There would likely be less controversy had that path been followed. Extension likely would have been granted but terms may have been slightly more in the school's favor depending upon how this season turns out.
Hey, all YOU PEOPLE over here arguing about a lot of NOTHING. Can't we all get along, JUST A LITTLE BIT? It's Christmas for GOD's SAKE.
