Basin, it is exciting to hear you say this and this class is as exciting as Christmas morning for a nine year old.! I like the LB Guidry as well because we certainly have a serious need for stronger play at LB. I am hoping that, along with a QB, the staff is hunting down a few more LB's for February. It looks like the Spencer kid out of New Iberia, who is a LB, may be hesitating on commiting to the Cajuns. I'd like to see them finish this class out with another LB or two.
.......I always or a lot of times missed the transition of HS players to the college level....I mean some are no brainers but the projections with age and maturation and just plain talent based upon competition can be decieving.......however the Legendre kid adds to my puzzle as he is so electrifying and yet without size and doesn’t run track......if he is the real deal in his advancement, he needs some touches or a lot of them!!!
I was in Lafayette yesterday and caught a portion of Jay Walker’s Show. He was saying you don’t know about a class for 3 years. Generally I agree, but think we will know a lot sooner. We are thin at every position other than RB so I expect 8-10 of these players to get significant playing time next year. Generally, good players don’t sit the bench at UL. They play early and often. As clutch alluded to, let’s hope Napier has another LB prospect to add.
