Thread: Napier had a reason for sticking with UL 2-QB plan

  1. UL Football Napier had a reason for sticking with UL 2-QB plan

Two quarterbacks, Andre Nunez and Levi Lewis, both would play.

The declaration initially was presented publicly more so as a promise than an arrangement etched in stone

I hope we never have to use a 2 QB system ever again

With how well this system worked this year, I would not be surprised to see the as a every year as a way of keeping the back up involved and ready to play.

I don't think it worked too well it lead to a good amount of miscues ... there is a reason why its not common place in football

If one looks hard enough, he can find a silver lining to every situation. A two QB system has amost never been the gold standard, historically.

It's tough on your WR because it throws off timing and hell on the OL with the change of cadence.

I might be mistaken because I wasn't able to listen to every play of every game, but seems to me that the only game using the two qb system really failed us was the Coastal game. Nunez was hot in the second half when Napier went with the planned sub of Lewis and we lost momentum if memory serves.

In many other games though, Lewis came in and immediatly tossed a long TD or some other impressive play.

You guys correct me if I'm all wet on this one.

    My memory as well.

It hurt, it helped, not necessarily in that order or mix.

Above and beyond that, there are dividends still to be paid.

I think next year Levi will play every 4th series as long as he continues to work and his attitude stays the same just like this year. It would be hard to take that away from him now. I am thinking, wishing, hoping the starter is not yet on campus and will be a transfer up grade.

How the Cajuns have thrived with a two-QB rotation in Levi Lewis, Andre Nunez

Hope a guy comes in next year that lets Lewis play the whole 4th quarter.
