Thread: Great Job Kiwanis Club

Guys, we talked about attendance and community support (lackthereof) all season long.

Yes, this team shocked us and has us excited, but most people are seeing a 7-6 team in a lowly conference. Until something big happens, it’s going to be tough to expect solid community support and for events to be planned in a way not to conflict with Ragin Cajun football.

Maybe you can ask a Kiwanian before you take some ill informed shots.

This game is in its third year. The first two times it was played in Lake Charles. This is the first time Lafayette gets to host this. We were asked to run this because of our expertise with Jamboree. But many of the decisions (like scheduling and rosters) were not made by us.

Our boys will wear Cajun colors while the Lake Charles all stars will wear McNeese colors. As they have done the two years prior.

Yes, it’s unfortunate timing (now) but none of this was our call. We just hope that we have a good crowd to help fund our projects.

If anyone has any more questions about this please message me.

PS - we are going to host this again next year, so we know there is already something to fix.

That's never stopped you before, except you are generally the one that is too far off.

I think the question some had here was why couldn't you just change the date when you saw that the SBC tie bowl was on the same day.

Flexing games and changing which game you are going to televise is different from changing the event on short notice to a completely different date.

No questions. Just want to say thanks to the Kiwanis Club for all the great things you’ve done in Lafayette.

Also, I can’t beleive this is a real thread.

Great question. I think the answer still is - none of that is in our control.

Or the time just move it to 6 pm that can’t be very difficult.

Then you should approach the people who are in control. It is your gate and your fundraiser that will suffer.

Sorry your wrong flexing a game moves it from noon or 3 to prime time. Game scheduled for 12:30 at stm can be moved just as easilybe moved to 6, no actually the logistics for the high school game would be a lot easier to move than the nfl game.
