Mike, we’ve been really trying to tell you that you’ve been backing a guy who cannot get us where we need to be. Been hard on that since year 4. He’s had a couple of pulses in that time, but it’s time to pull the plug.

My brother, you have zero situational awareness. Sunbelt basketball is easily bottom third out of 30 in D1 conferences year in and year out. We have won 1 regular season title in 12 years. ONE. In a brutal league. ONE.

Football started walkons and converted WRs on defense. Started a QB that walked on and couldn’t start for his own JUCO. Didn’t dress a full roster because the previous coach got caught cheating. Played for a conference championship and won the west in year 1 of a new staff. You think that’s not a big accomplishment?? Yet you think winning 27 games in an awful league, with zero top 50 wins and not even getting to the finals of our own conference tourney is???

What....?

Point of clarification. SBC is not in the bottom third year in and year out. There are 32 leagues. We are usually somewhere between 15 and 20. A couple of years ago the league was actually 13th, granted that was unusual. Not saying that is good, just pointing out that it actuality is better than perception.

Like I said, I am not focusing on the coach. I will be there regardless of who sits on the bench. Just be patient, if things get bad enough plug eventually gets pulled on every coach.

Please tell me your not serious. So if no one supports the team the coach gets fired. Then we hire a great coach which we will entice with our great fan support and pay with all our lost revenue. Then when he magically takes the job he will recruit top notch players because every kid wants to play in a empty 12,000 seat venue.

Jacob, imagine you own a restaurant and your food is exceedingly crappy. No one shows up. What happens? You go out of business, right? The same thing happens to an athletic program that no one wants to watch.

It's a very good comparison. Restaurants depend on fan support as well. You offer a good product at a reasonable price, your business will have lots of fans.

It's your right to spend your money at a crappy restaurant. Just don't expect everyone else to follow.

And something you're not understanding is that by demanding a better product out of our athletic department does not translate to one not being a fan. Anyone who wants to see the program thrive and prosper, in my book, is a fan.

There’s two great examples of the demise of a men’s program due to ESPN and the growth of women’s basketball. Ruston doesn’t even tick the viewer needle in either case. The up side, the men MIGHT outdraw the ladies now.
