I wonder how much time our coaches spend in Indiana recruiting, or are they too busy preparing the team to beat the Virgin Islands and the Necksters?

Yeah we can pull kids out of Indiana. Come to Louisiana and play in the sunbelt in front of 2,000 people, or go to Indiana state and be a god on campus and play in front of 7-8,000. Basketball is king around there.
We should start a hockey team. Within a few years we can wonder why we aren’t a power in hockey. It’s the same reasons just amplified.
Hockey was immensly popular in Lafayette but that's a story for another day.
We've had top quality players out of the midwest play for us in Blackham FREAKIN Coliseum in front of about 8,000 rabid fans in the deep south while playing in the FREAKIN SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE. It can be done here.
Guess I don't get it Vic. No one else seems to be able to do it, so why should we?
If I'd have had that attitude when my company was competing against Schlumberger and Halliburton, I wouldn't have been able to retire 18 years ago as I'd still have a little mom & pop shop and been all comfy because it just wasn't worth it to try to improve so I could compete with them.
Dude I don’t know if it’s your reading skills or comprehension skills. But I mentioned 3 different times that the conversation about mid majors in the south had nothing to do with marlin or our program. It’s a talking point.
I go to most of the basketball games when we’re good or not. You think I want to be mediocre, I want basketball to be irrelevant? I’d love to see the old Blackham days come back. I personally don’t think the 4 letter words will allow it these days. But it would be great, the stories are awesome.
Some people are entrepreneurs, visionaries, risk takers . . . Others are safekeepers . . . do what is safe and steady and just stay the course. Our basketball coach is a safe keeper. Those in the first class play the whole season for a spot at the dance, those in the second get a nice winning record which is nothing but that, play for 3 games in March for a spot at the dance then beitch because they were overlooked for the dance with such a nice record if the 3 games don't pan out, all while knowing that the nice record will never have done a damn thing but save their job for another year.
Jacob, I haven't been disrespectful of you. In fact, I've defended you. Please drop the "dude", okay.
My entire point is that because something is FREAKIN HARD is not an excuse to fold.....and I too am not talking about Bob Marlin or our basketball program. I'm talkin about life in general. If you want to be the best at what you do, you don't worry about how FREAKIN HARD it is or whether or not others are doing it today. Just do it.
As it relates to our basketball program, I don't believe we're really trying to be the best any longer.
If you'd like to convince me otherwise, I'd be happy to hear you out. If you agree, then we really have no argument here.
PS My reading and comprehension skills are generally pretty good, unless I'm reading a Boomer post.
