    Who is "Cam Jr."?

McDowell skill set of running and passing reminds me of a smaller version of Cam Newton when at auburn.

I hope you don’t take offense with that and suggest I am sabotaging the kid.

No offense at all. However this RP thing appears to get more comical every day. Take some recent analysis on each of our two QB commits:

One poster would take the junior TC QB over Fields.

Another poster compares McDowell to one of the best QB's to ever play college football.

How could anyone even attempt to reconcile these two analysis? Is there that much of a difference in talent level between our two committed QB recruits for 2019? Did we really hit on one and really miss on the other?

One positive noted about both however is that they seem to be very proud of their respective commitments, are both strongly on board to be Cajuns and are championing other recruits to come play here. In that respect, they appear to be comparable.

Please note that there is not one Iota of an argument in this post.

He was ONE of the best to play QB at the college level.

Dang CajunDic I knew I shouldn’t have taken the bait. I knew there had to be a hidden agenda. There may not be one Iota of an argument I am proud of you for that. But your interpretation skills are freaking hilarious. I really don’t know if you are just messing with us or if you are serious.

To say a kid has a skill set that reminds you of Cam doesn’t mean you are saying he is as good as or the next Cam. It’s just there games are the same style. But you know that and your just F’ing with me.

I must of have missed the one poster who said he’d take the TC QB over fields for the current offense we run. I did see you and F Bafoon’s conversation and we didn’t interpret that one the same either. As a matter of fact looking at the comments I think you were the only one who took it that way.

For the record if I were a betting man from a PURE TALENT stand point as to who will start first, I would lay my money on McDowell. Now one thing none of us can predict is how each will grasp the playbook. We also can’t judge off-season and practice work ethic. We also can’t see leader ship ability and who will rally the team and who the team will get behind.

But hay lesson learned I will not take the bait next time.

Not really. And that's why he washed out of the NFL so quickly. Scouting services tell you about physical traits, great coaches and recruiters will be able to find somebody with the right balance of talent and character to fit the team.
His NFL bust aside, Russell led LSU to 10-1 and 10-2 seasons, has 52 TDs to 21 INTs during his college career (before all this spread offense and everything is D pass interference era), was 1st team All SEC and won the Manning award.
