I don't think yesterdays bowl game will have any impact, at all, to our signing class. These commitments already know what kind of team we currently have and are committing to the future, and to this staff. We are just starting to reap the benefits of a program on the rise and this coming class will likely be the foundation that takes this program higher than ever before.
That's how I feel as well.
If these kids are the quality of mind and body that they appear to be, then they're looking at the big picture. They're saying to themselves, "damn, this coach said he was going to instill a new culture there and then he proceeded to take that squad farther than anyone thought he could. I want to be a part of that and it looks like I may play sooner rather than later".
Of course, that's my sunshine pumping on losing the bowl game. Signing day will tell us if I'm even close or not. I'm betting most who have committed, sign.
I don't think yesterday's game is going to affect our signing any recruits this Wednesday because Napier has these guys bought in and is building this thing on a solid foundation.
If we lose anyone then:
a. That player wasn't truly bought into the cULture and/or
b. That player is signing with a P5 program and/or
c. Maggard and a lot of professionals along with quite a few 'in the know' Cajun fans are flat out wrong about Napier.
I truly don't believe 'C' would be the reason, but it is a possibility.
