Yeah, I was there too. Their stadium is much improved from what it used to be. It does seat fewer than it used to, but they've added a new end zone facility along with a new press box with suites and it's a much nicer looking place anyway. Like lots of other G5 schools, La Tech appears to be managing their stadium upgrades with the mindset of quality over quantity.

After re-reading the list some of these are ridiculous. Tech's stadium is improved but not any nicer than a good bit of these on the list.

The article, at least regarding Cajun Field, seemed to focus more on a lack of game atmosphere and attendance than quality of the stadium, although that is lacking as well.

I was there also and pass right by it about once every 8 weeks. It was absolutely worse than ours in 2015. Since they added a press box that just looks very awkward on top the stadium. Kind of like putting a nice house in the middle of a run down trailer park. I’ll give them a little credit for building what is equivalent to our APC on a much smaller level and incorporated some seats into it. Never was a fan of putting your best seats in the end zone.
