In what will be the 30th time in school history, Louisiana Football and the Tulane Green Wave will meet on the gridiron, as the AutoNation Cure Bowl announced on Sunday, Dec. 2, its matchup for the upcoming Dec. 15 game at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
"Louisiana Football is honored and excited for this challenge against Tulane in the AutoNation Cure Bowl," head coach Billy Napier said. "This experience will be a well-deserved reward for our seniors, the team, and our coaching & support staff. It's a great opportunity to represent the University of Louisiana & Acadiana in a first-class manner. Most importantly, the Cure Bowl stands for more than just football. This is an opportunity for all associated with UL to unite and stand up in the fight against cancer. It's an honor for our program to be involved in this initiative, and we look forward to doing all we can for this cause during our time in Orlando."
The Ragin' Cajuns and the Green Wave meet for the first time since 2016 in this season's AutoNation Cure Bowl. Kickoff is slated for 12:30 p.m. CT. The game, which will be televised on CBS Sports Network. Louisiana and Tulane have met in a bowl game before, playing in the 2013 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.
"We are extremely excited to participate in the AutoNation Cure Bowl against a quality opponent in Tulane University," Director of Athletics Bryan Maggard said. "To be associated with a prestigious bowl that also serves an important cause in the fight against cancer is a true honor. We're thrilled for Coach Napier, his staff and our student-athletes, winning the Sun Belt Conference West Division and making a bowl game in his first season leading the Ragin' Cajuns. An exciting week in Orlando is ahead for our team, alumni and fan base."
