You can definitely tell that Napier's process has taken root. Off the field distractions are gone, wiped out. Record wise, he has exceeded my expectations for what I considered a successful year. Then we get to play in the inaugural championship game and a bowl game? Wow!
I disagree this will be an easy game. Since Tulane started playing the LSU transfer at QB, they have been an greatly improved team. Great comeback over Navy last week for them. I expect a game that won't be decided until well into the fourth quarter. As far as a home and home with them coming up, that is over 5 years away. Not a factor in my view. A win is crucial for us in order to keep our recruiting momentum moving on.
nawlinspete:
The Cure would be a disaster . An all Louisiana game will interest noone other than the handful, by TV standards , of fans in NO and LaLa and the rest of the world would not even know it is being played because it will be on CBS
It is unusual , but not unprecedented , to decline a bowl, as in 1929 when we declined the Rose . We have everything to lose an nothing to gain , by playing LaLa .
Lobby hard, Troy , for anywhere else . If you fail ,decline .
They are trying to emulate their idol, Latech
I would laugh if they would decline, and be happy to play Wyoming or a Mac school.
Well, it takes a special kind of stupid to have a team that was ranked nationally, finished with a record of something like 9-3, and manage to decline a bowl AND end up with no other bowl invite, both in the same year. Dum_____es. LOL
Tulane won't be stupid like that.
Cajun Strong! Love Lafayette!
Priced out the team hotel at Universal, and it's minimum $1,100/night.....ugh
