Thread: 2018 SBC Football All-Conference

  1. UL Football Re: 2018 SBC Football All-Conference

FCS system that never took a step back when they became FBS. Just saying

Again I’m all in with Billy, just not discounting what Satterfield did. We expect nothing less for Robe when he’s dominating.

I'm going to have to disagree on that one CVic. Those guys are loaded, lots of depth. Don't recall their budget levels, but know it's got to be way higher than someone like the Monrovians. I still believe they (the Monrovians) are the ones over-achieving and doing more with less.

I'm talking about Napier and the Cajuns.

    Well then, I stand corrected.

Agreed and I think the team would agree. Fuel for the fire!

I can understand the COY award, Napier did an excellent job resurrecting our program and getting us to this championship game, but COY should go to a team with a record better than 7-5. On the other hand, our players were ripped off. No way we only have 1 first teamer.

Have you seen Mitchell run? He runs the same plays. He's used as much in the passing game but is just more effective and has the bigger burst. The reason you see Ragas making all those nice, big hard hitting runs is because he doesn't have the speed of the other two backs to break it big. I don't even think it is close in the explosiveness of Mitchell and Calais over Ragas. Also, the NFL is starting to go to smaller backs since there are very few 3 down backs anymore. They are going to guys who have dual threat capabilities. While bigger backs are still valuable at times, I think you are seeing a shift.

I agree with almost everything you state. Ragas is a very good pass catching RB. He can also break big runs, but he’s more of the Lagarret Blount type back.

Blount was exactly who I was thinking about when talking about Ragas. You are right, I don't want to diminish Ragas' ability in the pass game because he's caught some balls this year and is better than I thought he would be. And yes, i don't want to reduce his ability to make big runs because that is the case as well. He has deceptive speed. I just know that Mitchell has the "burst" that can take it to the house on any play. In other words, I think if he was healthy more this year, the numbers between the two would be skewed in Mitchell's favor even more even though Ragas would potentially have more carries.

Mitchell imo is the most complete back to ever play here.
