Coaches who rack up more wins get awards. If Napier wins 9 or 10 games next year he will win the award, even if the new coach at Texas St gets them bowl eligible( a major miracle).

Napier not winning it this year is right in line with the across the board treatment of our players. After the three previous years performance, the lack of respect earned in those years carried into this years voting. However, we have earned the opportunity to do something about it tomorrow. Lets get it done.

Just because it "is" doesn't mean it's justified.

It’s an award. Awards are given to winners. They are rarely nuanced in looking to see who did the best job under the circumstances. It’s really not a big deal. I’m sure UL and Napier will be able to survive the slight.

Awards are irrelevant to coaches. I'm not arguing that.

This is a fan discussion about who we believe did a better overall coaching job this season with what they had to work with. That's Napier, head and shoulders.

Your cookie monster coach did a good job in the SEC this year, and you should be proud of that. He might even be in the COY conversation. Btw, you'd know how incredible Napier was if you watched or attended Ragin Cajuns Football games.

It just seems like we are looked at by the league as the team who gets to lose to app on national tv. I hope we earn some respect tomorrow when we win. Our players have done it the right way this year, this senior class has been through a rough 4-5 years. I want them to come out on top.

They are relevant as I believe nape has a bonus tied to COY award

Big surprise, we disagree. Satterfield is the best coach in the SBC and this year he won big while replacing a four year starter at QB. His excellent showing against Penn St vs our poor showings against the SEC also tips the scales in his favor.

I am flattered you are so concerned with my football viewing habits. Since you asked, here are my thoughts....I am probably not the best person to weight in since missed a lot of their games this year, but imo Coach O should not be getting any awards. In the SEC, 9-3 allows you to keep your job. As for the Cajuns, my attendance and viewing habits are directly related to my kids sporting events. Unfortunately, I will miss most of the SBC Championship Game tomorrow because of them. We can’t all be super fans. Hopefully there is room on the UL bandwagon for fans like myself.

Although I agree in general with your last point, I believe there are exceptions. For example, when Vanderbilt goes 9-3, I believe their coach should probably win COY

The formula for coach of the year should be reality divided by expectations = score.

The larger the # the more deserving.
