I'm generally in favor of seeing LL go in for a few series per game. As has been pointed out, he's producing much-needed points, gives the opposing team's defense a different look, and let's face it, we're likely going to need him ready to play next year as no one knows who's going to be in the qb position for us in 2019. Being responsible for 10 points tonight is a confidence builder for the young man.
In which the IW rules say the team with possession can either take forward progress or choose to replay the down. The discretion call on the Referee's part was treating the play as an IW.
Not entirely sure what the alternative would have been... an unsportsmanlike conduct on ULM's bench? This case is odd enough that you might see it show up in the case studies that NCAA puts in the Appendix of the rules.
