Shooting and turnover woes led the CSU basketball team to a lopsided 91-73 loss on Monday.
It was the first contest of the three-game tournament at the Gulf Coast Showcase in Florida.
Louisiana (2-2) held Colorado State University to 31 percent shooting and forced 10 turnovers in the first half as it built as much as a 16-point lead. The Rams were 1-12 on 3-pointers in the first half.
The lead grew to as much as 28 points by the middle of the second half as CSU (3-1) was handed its first defeat of the season.
Louisiana hit 13 of 29 3-point attempts and scored 30 points off 20 CSU turnovers.
"We didn't do much well tonight, really I think, on either end of the floor. You have to give that team a lot of credit. Their pressure really bothered us," coach Niko Medved said. "They got us all out of sorts. We weren't able to get into our offense at all early."
Five Louisiana players scored in double figures.
