TT sold a billion dollars worth of land this year they had some extra cash

We really need to look into selling a billion dollars of land. If we did that, we could renovate the football stadium, build the baseball locker room and cages without any additional Russo money and completely do away with all parking fees. I can't believe Alden did not come up with this very easy and available solution. Go get'm Dr Maggard and get it done.

P.s. We already have in place all of the other expenses to support the need for such a sale.

James Madison has hired Elon head coach Curt Cignetti.

Cignetti has a six year agreement to be the new head coach. Greg Madia tweets that Cignetti’s deal is $425,000 per year. [Former JMU head coach Mike Houston left to become East Carolina’s head coach, with a salary package beginning at $1.3 million and rising…. Big difference between elite FCS & group of 5 FBS dollars there.]

In two seasons as head coach at Elon, Cignetti is 14-9. At IUP, his teams won 9+ games 4 times in 6 seasons.

Prior to taking over as head coach at IUP for the 2011 season, Cignetti served as Nick Saban’s receivers coach for four years at Alabama. Prior to going to Alabama he has spent seven seasons at NC State.

Sources: Tom Arth to be the next Akron head coach

Tom Arth is expected to be the next head coach at Akron, sources tell FootballScoop.

An announcement could come as soon today.

The front-runner for the job, Arth is currently in his second season as the head coach at Chattanooga, but best known in Ohio for his work at his alma mater, Division III John Carroll in Cleveland.

He went 40-8 in five seasons leading the Blue Streaks, and became the only coach not wearing Mount Union purple to win the Ohio Athletic Conference in the past quarter century.

Mike Sanford to be Utah State offensive coordinator

Mike Sanford will be the offensive coordinator at Utah State, sources told FootballScoop on Friday.

ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg was the first to report the news.

Sanford was let go last month after two seasons as the head coach at Western Kentucky. Prior to that, Sanford rose the ranks as the offensive coordinator at Boise State and Notre Dame. He also coached running backs and quarterbacks on David Shaw’s staff at Stanford from 2011-13.

Report: Major Applewhite's future in Houston is "in doubt"

Shortly after promoting offensive coordinator Major Applewhite to the head coaching spot following the departure of Tom Herman for the Texas job, Houston super-booster and Board of Regents chairman Tilman Fertitta made a rather interesting statement.

"I think you can look forward to Major being here for many years, but he better win 9, 10, 11 games a year, too, from our standpoint."

"We did get rid of a coach that won eight games a few years ago," Fertitta added. "Don't ever forget that. We expect to win at the University of Houston."

Following Houston's rough 70-14 loss to Army tonight, a report from SB Nation points out that Major's future as the leader of the program is in doubt. The loss ties the worst loss in the history of the program, and is only the second time ever a team has hit 70-points in a bowl game.

After the game, Bruce Feldman tweeted that Houston offensive coordinator Kendal Briles had resigned, and many reports have long expected him to become the new offensive coordinator at Florida State. And he likely isn’t the only one heading to Tallahassee.

I hadn't even thought of a potential replacement, but you may be right. It would make sense.
