Hiring an AD and head football coach at the same time is a cluster ___k
If I were a coach I wouldn't accept a job without an AD in place. It just seems like trouble waiting to happen unless the coach is critical in the AD hiring process.

For the record, Southern Miss fans seem eager to see him go........seem to feel he's probably a pretty good bean counter but not much for actually raising funds and hiring coaches.

I wouldn't mind a home and home weekend series in baseball with ECU.

Has Kansas State's Bill Snyder lost his long battle with employment?

Report: Kansas State to target UNT coach Seth Littrell

Bill Snyder's time as the head coach at Kansas State could soon be coming to an end, opening the door for the school to pursue North Texas coach Seth Littrell as his replacement, according to a report published tonight.

Tim Fitzgerald of 247Sports' GoPowercat.com is reporting that Snyder is likely to step down by the end of the week. The site is also reporting that the school will likely pursue Littrell to replace him.

The departure of Snyder, a legendary figure in college football, has been the source of speculation over the last several days.

Kansas State athletic director Gene Taylor was expected to meet with Snyder this week, according to the Wichita Eagle.

Littrell's name has come up in connection with several schools looking for a new football coach over the last several days, including Texas Tech. The school is in the process of hiring Utah State coach Matt Wells, according to multiple reports.

I don’t think he’d move for another G5 school. Or as the the AAC promotes it a P6 conference.

    Footballscoop:

Update on Charlotte’s head coaching search

As we know, Charlotte made James Madison head coach Mike Houston the top target in its coaching search, offering him the job early in the week. Aside from the tricky fact that James Madison’s season is still ongoing, all signs pointed toward Houston being the 49ers’ next head coach.

And then East Carolina fired Scottie Montgomery.

Sources indicate the Pirates were spurred into action by Charlotte’s pursuit of Houston.

This is an issue for Charlotte for a myriad of reasons, but the top line is this: Charlotte paid its outgoing coach $625,000 in 2018, per the USA Today coaching salary database. East Carolina paid theirs $1.1 million.

Though Charlotte would be expected to pay Houston more than it paid Brad Lambert, it would be tough for the 49ers to close a half million dollar gap — and that’s assuming ECU doesn’t offer Houston a higher salary than it paid Montgomery (which the school likely would or has).

Given that, Charlotte has started making contingencies in the event Houston spurns their offer, and a source says Austin Peay head coach Will Healy has drawn significant interest from the 49ers.
