Most of us expect Napier's time here to be short.short because he'll hopefully soon be a hot commoditywhich will be good for our program. Having his staff poached by offers to move upposition coach to head coach for exampleat the end of the day, will also a good thing because it sends a clear signal that our athletic program is successful.

I'm not anxious to lose any of our position coaches, but it is inevitable given our success.

Neither am I, of course. Just trying to put a smiley face on some potentially horrid news. LOL

Gus Malzahn about to get the axe at Auburn?

"Turns out, Gus Malzahn's job at Auburn isn't nearly as safe as once thought. There is a serious movement among high-powered officials at AU to fire him. To the point that a replacement has been identified and initial meetings held to gauge interest. Happy, Monday."

    Geez Louise:

Malzahn signed a 7-year, $49 million contract after leading Auburn to wins over Georgia and Alabama en route to an SEC West championship in 2017. The cost to buy the sixth-year Auburn coach out of his contract at this point is a reported $32 million with $16 million of that due nearly immediately should they make this decision.

    Bob Stoops next in line?

If Art steps foot in a press box I lost all respect for Texas state

LSU would not touch Kendall that tells you something about his character

Why wasn't Leger offered the HC job when Viator left?

Don't know Vic, not a McNeese insider. I heard they were interested in Leger from someone that is his friend. It's strictly a rumor as far as I know and probably comes at an inopportune time for us during recruiting. It might be best not to mention it again unless the media puts something out.

Timing may not be right. I know the family is excited to be in Lafayette for Gunner's final season. Ashley was overjoyed to move back to Lafayette. A question to be asked here would be financial considerations. Viator was making 150 at McNeese. I don't know they were paying Guidry that much. Leger is making 140k here.

I'm not saying he wouldn't take it if offered, but there are other considerations here, I think.

It was a no brainer to see him come back home to south Louisiana last year especially knowing that his son would be pitching his last year with the Cajuns this year.
