Best chance for ULM to win is to run the ball and control the clock. On D they’ll load up and try to stop the run. This is what Coastal did and they laid the blueprint on beating us. Easier said than done as ULM does not have a particularly strong run game. They do have a mobile QB that will give us problems and convert some key 3rd downs with his feet. That said,

We rushed for 238 yards against Coastal, our RBs averaged 10.2 yards per carry ... that was not the problem. The problem (on offense) was that Nunez was 7-14 for 133 yards.
The major problem is that we never got the ball. Coastal had the ball for 39 minutes of the game.
Our defense gave up 311 yards rushing and Coastal ran 73 plays to our 49.
Coastal had long, time-consuming drives that ended in TD's. We punted four times, they punted three times and had 1 turnover.
I will gladly face any defensive blueprint that allows 10 yards/carry.
UL wins this one easily, albeit in front of only 5500 fans, 600 of which will be Cajun fans.

Hope we are ready for the zone read...
You’re reinforcing my point. The way to beat us is through ball control offense. South al did this as well but couldn’t keep us from scoring every time we touched ball. Also in that coastak game, they did a good job shutting down our run game in the first half by playing heavy in the box. It wasn’t until 2nd half that we got things rolling.
37-33 Cajuns
