Governor Jindal’s budget for 2010-2011 as presented to the Senate Finance Committee this past week may spell trouble for Louisiana’s state park system. The budget, as proposed, cuts almost $12 million dollars from state park operations or a 15 percent cut from last year’s park’s.

“In Governor Jindal’s current budget, the park system takes a serious cut. Proportionately, they are taking on a much larger cut than other agencies,” said Senator Eric La Fleur. “It may mean cuts in maintenance, rangers, station workers and clean up crews.”
