We have a transfer from Saint Louis sitting out, plus Julien. I agree with T. If we can get a transfer each year to compliment these guys, we have a chance to be good.

Kevin Johnson is worth whatever he's getting paid. Probably more.
Transfer from St. Louis is named Jalen Johnson and he is from Baton Rouge. We recruited him hard out of HS and was happy we had a spot for him after he realized his skills had a better fit here. I have seen him play a couple of times and believe he may be best overall player on team. Think of a miore skilled Tyren Johnson. Tyren was on Robert Lee’s last team and was an All Conference player. Point was here is another example of our Reputation in Louisiana improving.

Mike if he is anything like Tyren was in his senior season we are in for a treat. I hope you are right. The only bad thing about Tyren was Lee not redshirting him. It would have been great to have him one more year.

He may not have the consistent shot Tryen had by his senior year but he can score both inside and in the mid range game. I think he may be a better rebounder than Tyren. Of all the transfers we have had recently he had the best stats at his previous spot. He averaged over 10 points and 6 rebounds at St. Louis last season. The Billikens play in the Atlantic 10 which is considered of the better mid major basketball leagues.

Malik Wilson and Rayville started their HS season this week. Last night they beat a school called St. Leo of Chicago by a score of 82 to 66. I think this is part of a tournament being held in the Washington DC Area. Wilson had 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists in the contest. Nice start to his senior year. I spoke to a local HS assistant basketball coach today. He told me just about all the HS coaches in the state think very highly of Wilson. That encourages me more than any particular recruiting ranking.

I am currently working in Rayville. I mentioned to a local that I was looking forward to Wilson becoming a Cajun, and I was told that not only is he an outstanding athlete, he is also an excellent student and a well-grounded young man of high character.

An interesting tidbit I found on Chris Spenkuch is that he has dual citizenship between the U.S. and Germany and he played on the German 16U national team.
