3 conference titles and a bowl game. That was back when teams played real tough schedules.

I merely stated that I didn't think that NAIA schools give scholarships....I was told that wasn't true....an accurate statement . I wasn't trying to pile on. I support Gary and these girls and my wife and I will continue to attend these games and cheer these kids on. Anyone wanting to stop and chat with me during those games is welcome to stop by and do so. We usually sit second row near Dan McDonald's broadcast area.

Well....no bowl but the number of bowls was very small back then.....it was hard work and fun....11 game aeasons....no more than 5 home games and sometimes 4.

The Coach with the most wins in the programs history would have double the wins and probably a few CONF titles if they would have hired him after Kelly Hall, but instead they wasted 6 years on Errol Rogers.
While I totally agree with the waste of years on Errol Rogers; the fact is that in his tenure here, Brodhead has not recruited a single player who would have started for Kelley Hall. Garry is light years better than Rogers; but there are no Yolanda Jones [recruited by Hall] or Anna Petrakova [played for Hall, recruited by Gay Nix] type players being recruited by Brodhead.

I have generally enjoyed watching Brodhead's teams play. They play hard, they clearly like playing together, and they usually beat the teams that they should beat. Regrettably, that doesn't make them a good team, and losing to NAIA schools never helps.

Let's just waste our limited budget on coaches that are in a free fall in the name of being nice.

I do get it. Perhaps your recognition is a little off. For instance, I think a negative statement would be "I don't know why you guys even follow this program, its horrible. It always was and always will be and the coach sucks. We should all put our resources into something else". That is not my belief but that would be negative. Being critical might sound like: "I love Gary and hope he can turn it around BUT his tenure here thus far has been a little disappointing in regards to competing in conference for titles, sustained recruiting and fundraising".

See the difference between those two statements. Both are not necessarily wrong but the difference is that if we were "negative" we would have a poor outlook on the program and Gary not just now but for the future. Being critical is looking at what has happened and giving opinion based on what each person has seen. Its completely different. This is the same conversation with Marlin's contract. People take critical statements as those of negativity towards the program and Marlin and that's not the case.

Basin Bear, Im sure your a great dude, everyone on here seems to know you and respect you. I just think we should be positive and support. Maybe we need to take more of our time and figure out how to get more than 15K at the football game. Since you have had success coaching the football program at UL you should be able to help with this problem for sure. Lets be positive let the season play out and then make our negative comments.

Just was curious as to when you coached and how successful you were. The other guy brought it up that you know how to run a successful program. GEAUX CAJUNS, I know we can all agree we want all our sports programs to win.
