The NIT (NCAA actually) should grow a take it or leave it backbone.

Easy for you to say. You are not the one who has to eat it while traveling. Name some teams that you would like us to "pay" to come here. Some of the funds raised this year may be going to pay the two D1 games we have bought. That has not happened under any coach in over 20 years.

IMO Bob has never been a fundraiser period. He's one of the biggest snow jobber ever to work for UL. He's always got seemingly good reasons for his shortcomings. Keep on enjoying the easy wins and disappointing fails against the better conference teams, and of course the two non division I wins a year helping build a job resume.

How dumb a fan base we have. Could you hold off the crap till after the signing period!

It is easy for me to say, i travel for work and I’ll pick any fast food over applebee’s. It’s basically the equivalent of lean cuisine. I don’t really care about the teams coming here but don’t cry about not having the money when the coach is being paid the equivalent of 3 money games more than previous coaches. I get it, you can’t have an unbiased view when it comes to basketball. Other people close to the program question his fundraising. I remember you saying at one point the rebounders club had to raise money for brooms, that doesn’t make me feel bad for the program...it makes me question the guy making $400k who would watch his program go without brooms before doing something about it. I know you genuinely believe you are fighting the good fight but i honestly think your stance antagonizes more people than you convince of your view. I personally have become apathetic over bobs tenure for several reasons and not all of them on him. I go when i feel like it or have nothing else to do. I used to never miss a game. Basketball seems to be the only program that still uses “we can’t” often around here. It’s really old

Actually, with the new contract I think he's making over $500K.

  8. UL Basketball Re: Rebounders Club Tidbit

Why do I have to give him any more time. He's had almost a decade. I'm gonna guess you're happy with his non revenue efforts since day one, his miserable win loss record vs top 200, 100. I'm not hurting his recruiting efforts. His record is established by him not me, his failure to aggressively fund raise is on him not me.

They're not a crap program but they aren't Kentucky either. It is a bit odd that both they and Belmont pretty much refused to come here. I don't think either program carries weight to do that.

Well one positive about basketball could be the student turn out last game.....probably double all the ones seen lately behind the goal....could have been the reach out to the students....still a long way to go but it looked like they enjoyed the slam dunks from Gant!

I have never said we raised money for brooms. I have said I provide facts. I will let people make up their own mind if they want to support any program. Privately many people tell me they appreciate the info I provide which will likely be less in the future. I have said home scheduling is difficult due to area teams refusing to play us and the AD says the same.

You don’t have to give him any more time to do anything as he did enough to please his boss to warrant an extension. That is the most important opinion there is. I don’t think anything posted here negative or positive will impact any one’s decision to sign. Jay did talk today about the north Louisiana kid named Wilson signing. I presume he did as a result.
