So we pivot to the sarcasm route. I'm sure that will put butts in the seats.

It was worse after half. You should have seen the exodus after the fireworks show. I was walking back to my seat and people were leaving big time.

That is a great line! I wish I had said it

It just drives me crazy to demand a better product on the field and then scream to high heaven because you "gotta pay to park". For the love of Jesus H. Christ, this ____ costs money. Building facilities, hiring top-quality coaches who not only will put a top-quality product on the field, they won't embarrass us with NCAA penalities and dog-and-pony locker room shows, costs money.

You're worried about the deficit, that's fine. But do you want a better product? Are you concerned that the window of oppourtunity to separate ourselves from all the other state schools not named LSU might be closing?

If not, then maybe we should have kept Scott Farmer, Coach Tootpick and numerous others because lord knows they didn't cost us much.

Hire the best, hire PROFESSIONALS and give them the tools to do their jobs and the money will take care of itself.
So you bare a greater load on people that give good money to the univ and tell the causals to pay more or GTFO ?

I know our window is closing but we will not get anywhere with 15k people in the seats we just can't sustain grow without a strong & larger fan base.

Come on Vic, what do you want me to say? You either believe that hiring professionals to do the job, and giving them the tools to do their job will eventually pay the dividends aka butts in the seats, and donors writing checks, or you don't.

What's the alternative? Go back to the way we were? If we're going to do that, then let's just drop down to DII or DIII and put a nice little "boutique" athletic department out there for those who wish to see their kids participate in sports.

You think that UL's athletic department is the only one that suffering from lack of fan interest? We're not, by a long shot.

I don't have the answers Vic. But I am confident that this program is on the right track. This phenomenon of fans losing interest in their school's athletic programs is going to break the backs of many, sending them to some far-off athletic wasteland. Doing nothing will guarantee it.

But hiring the people we've hired will give us the best chance to survive the coming slaughter and move on, and up, leaving those behind who didn't have the vision or the balls to take the chance.

We have 3 sunbelt losses. Most people aren’t looking at this team as a team poised for anything this year.

I'd say the same to casual fans that a car dealership owner would say to them if they wanted to drive a Lexus from his business but were interested in paying him a Chevy's price.

At the end of the day, it's a matter of priorities on how they spend their money. I realize that. I also realize that the casual fan needs to have the vision of what Maggard is building. That's not an easy thing to do, but more fans will eventually see that vision, recognize the value, and pay it ESPECIALLY if Maggard does his part and runs a professional, winning operation.

I loved it when Napier was questioned about attendance and he replied that he's not concerned about it.....that he realizes he's not put the product on the field that warrants the stands full of people. He's not panicked like some of you are here. Neither is Maggard. These guys know what they're doing. Chill, would be my recommendation. Let them do their jobs.

If they can't fix it, nobody will.

I don't disagree with the part you discuss. The problem is they skinned the sheep even before there was a semblance of a herd. Now, even those that were on board or frustrated, many were already tuned out and now those that were left are dropping like flies. It's not about the $10 to park. It's about the whole package on the back of a dumpster fire. A few different things happen this year and possibly that could have been the right track. They didn't and its headed downhill faster than anyone can catch-up with. Something different needs to happen.

I’m certain we’ve hired the right head coach. I’m sure he’ll get some signature wins and that’s gonna get many fans back. But that’s then and this’s now.

    Not hardly.

The university is now reaping what it has sown.

Shame on the university for treating its fans is the fashion that is has.
