I remain hopeful he can turn it around but he has a long way to go.
But the fundamentals as the season has gone on are simply no better than they have been the last few seasons. Missed tackles and blocks ugly turnovers and play calling hasn't been all that great. The fans wanna come back but there has to be a product worth watching and it's about more than wins and losses its good quality football. This Troy game today was another example showing it just isn't there and this coaching staff has plenty improving to do.
Most are confusing a good person with a good coach.
Napier is likeable and tells the truth according to what most want to here.
At this point, Napier is an average head coach with potential which is not bad as this is his first head coaching job.
Another coaching expert...
Coaches had a free pass for the past 40 years over here why because we were just happy to field a team and maybe next year we could win a few more games if not oh well. Perhaps that's why we are lagging behind schools that just started football a handful of years ago.
Not fire coaches but tell them hey sub .500 football is not acceptable getting blown out in the 1st by P5 teams is not acceptable.
After we tell them that, what do we do when it happens. I always laugh when people say we should tell others things are not acceptable when they have no power to impact the next decision. That philosophy means you have three different coaches in most seasons. Napier himself has said he was not satisfied with how we were not competitive in those games.
So you are saying we should just shut up spend our money on ____ty athletics and keep our heads down?
Or should we patt the coach on the back when we get beat down and say it's ok we did not want to win that game anyway.
Everyone here wants to be UCF & Houston but not do the things that got them there.
Everyone? Really?
