I mean, let’s be honest. If we just went down the road and hired the current Head Coach at St. Scholastica, who has made the championship game 4 out out of the past 6 years and won the Championship game for the largest Division 3 of those years, could we do any worse than the past 7-8 years?
In this modern day and age I think it is fair to say that every job search can be done "nationally" without any additional cost or work involved.
St. Scholastica has been very good and they have produced a good bit of Div 1 talent. I don't remember much specifically about the St. Scholastica coach (which is usually a good thing) but there certainly will be more considered than just winning. Will they be a good "fit" with the community, do they have good recruiting connections, are they M. Lotief in waiting? There are a couple of highly successful coaches in this state at the high school/ club level that would be a disaster for any college team.
Most of the top line high school coaches are active in their local soccer clubs. Scot and Pogi came from the same population. Make the same mistake three times in a row?
Besides recruiting for college is totally different than recruiting for high school.
