No need to make a general broadcast berating the whole forum. Our defense played very well today. And it wasn't a vaulted App State defense that limited our offense. On the one day our defense leaped forward in performance and determination, our QB play was weak, and our offensive play calling was seriously lacking. This App State team was about as beatable as any we've faced. We could have won this game... regardless of App State's ranking.
Overall, despite the loss, I'm happy to see the D have a good day. If we're going to see the 6-6 I projected we might, the best of our D and O... and game day coaching needs to converge from here on out.
The offensive coaches deserved the criticism. Our plays and QB play wasn't up to snuff. Our weakest link came to play today... and they weren't helped. Obviously, some offensive players were lights out. But when you play App State, everyone has to perform at their highest. The people on here that lose their composure during the game are as needed as any UL fan.
Cajunrunner's schtick never gets old. He almost never fails to discover a new straight man for his act.
You need to change baits. You're targeting bottom feeding catfish. Put something stinky on the hook, add a big lead sinker, and go take a nap. You don't hunt for big cats... they find you.
PS Forgive your brethren that get cranky on every play that doesn't go our way. This is their outlet. Otherwise they'd be kicking a dog. Let them air kick the coaches... instead of the house dog.
I think we played to our strengths. We tried to run the ball and had some success. I think that was the recipe for a win. Run the ball control, the clock and dont let our defense lose the game.
For the first time this season, I wanted to see Levi more. He seemed to have a spark off the bench. I wish we could have seen him back out after his TD drive.
