Thread: Suggestion

    Default Suggestion

After reading several threads and listening to people complain about attendance and game day atmosphere, I have a suggestion that probably many people will not agree with, but here it is.

Various schools and teams (pro ands college) sometime wear "throwback" uniforms for a game or two during the season. What do you think about maybe having a "throwback game" at Cajun Field to see how the crowd reacts.

What do I mean by a "throwback game"?

    1. Lower ticket prices by maybe $5.00 for the throwback game.
    2. Lower concession prices to 1/2 price for the throwback game.
    3. Turn off the music on the scoreboard for the throwback game and just utilize the graphics (like the old days).
    4. Allow the band to play throughout the game.
    5. Let the cheerleaders attempt to get fans engaged.
    6. Have the P.A. announcer just announce game information and no other attempts to engage the fans.
    7. etc, etc, etc.

All of these things are how football games used to be in the late 1900's. It was up to the fans to create the excitement, if there was going to be any. Many younger fans, have never been to a game under such circumstances and may not even know what to do or how to react! I would love to see how a game like that would be received by the masses.

I, for one, can tolerate all of the music and artificial noise being piped into the stadium, but I go to the games for the action on the field. That is all I really care about, in addition to whether or not the Cajuns win or lose.

I'd be very interested to see how the rest of the fan base would handle such a game and atmosphere. I think it would be very interesting.

Maybe also do away with the bag searches for the throwback game as well, that should solve your issue with the Wild Turkey!!!! LOL!!!!

Great idea. Sometimes the best way to teach the youngsters is to let them have the experience.

I think I still have a flask that will fit snugly into my pants or boots.

I know the students can't or don't sneak booze into the stadium anymore. Hell, I haven't witnessed a good fight in the stands in years! LMAO!

    I'm totally good with this.

Also, I like the idea of throwback uniforms. I don't care if it's the Acadiana flag helmets or the ones with the script "Cajuns" on them. Find a way to get it done.

And bring back the Cajun Chicken. If Russel can't do, maybe he can find someone to train who can do it in his place.

Bring the Keg back to its glory days, but cheerleaders on the roof and get some businesses to sponsor an open bar tab for anyone with a game used ticket.

    A throwback game huh?

    Laterals can be very effective.
