Renovate the bowl to include recliners with mist fans and only about 10000 seats. Free seats for the governor.
A recurring theme from some folks is “it’s just too expensive” and from other folks it’s “ if you want to be big time you got a raise big-time money .”

For two season tickets for my wife and I, we are at about $600 with the tickets, parking, and RCAF donation.

We sit in the upper deck and park in the overflow lot on the east side.

Just how much should it be for a family of four to purchase season tickets to go to a football game?

Family 5 pack cost less than your 2 tickets. Believe it was in the $400s for 5 tickets.

I am an old fan. Been at it for 53 years. Take a look at our schedule during the 80's and 90's. We were very competitive and had a lot of winning seasons. We had better teams I those years. All we have now is a glorified 1AA schedule. We just barely compete with those teams today. Administration dropped the boat in those years. We never had a consistent winning football program. It was always wishing and hoping.

But then I accidentally won 4 tickets to the game and decided the reunion was still going to be underway when I got there at 8. All in all, I had a pretty good day.
Hopefully the show the offense put on gives you reason to come back.

Actually Lex is not far from nailing it. Like Jeaux mentioned, make it a “to be seen” event and you’ll have to swat the people away at the gate.

Very disturbing watching on espn+ from here in Florida. Students wtf??? These millennials have no clue. That is embarrassing how few students showed up to watch the game.

The student attendance improved 1000% from the Coastal game. I counted less than 100 for that one. Yesterday, the students showed up better than the rest of us

I know that, but it’s not what I asked.

Tried to get a few people to pitch in to cover the entire cost which actually would’ve been less than an individual tickets but they were too cheap.

So I was gonna buy It just to have the extra three tickets on hand but my wife wouldn’t go for it. Maybe next year

My question is what should the ticket cost be? Should be $10 a game, should be $15 game, should be $20 a game?

And how much parking be? Should people be able to pull right up to Cajun Field and park for free?

What should the cost be so that we could get back to the good old days when Jake and B Mitchell were selling out Cajun Field?

Let’s get one thing straight! I blame this on the administration. You have to create a certain vibe or buzz around your program and they haven’t done that.

    1. Schedule! We have to play teams that are interesting to the fanbase. There is nothing exciting about playing NMSU. Play Southern Miss, McNeese, LaTech, Rice, Tulane, Southern, Grambling, UTSA etc. why are we scheduling games at or around the same time as LSU? Lets play at home while LSU is playing at home against the #2 team in the country, at or around the same time as they play . Game should of been played at 6 at night this weekend, or we should of had an away game that weekend.

    2. Pricing average folks out ! Look there is more than one way to skin a cat. You shouldn’t have to spend 1,000 dollar donation on RCAF, plus season tickets, and have to spend another 500 dollar on a tailgate spot. Should be other avenues the university could take.
    • Have a commons area for average fans to hang out before and after the game, kinda like the baseball field but better, set up concessions for beer, with a stage with live music, and food. A Championship Square type place at Cajun Field so the average fan can hang out before and after the game.

    3. Creating a buzz! We have to get out in the community and start promoting Ragin Cajun football. Problem is it’s a Lafayette thing to do not an Acadiana thing to do. We need to have events promoting Ragin Cajun Athletics in New Iberia, Abbeville, Opelousas, Rayne, Crowley, Kaplan, or any town that is close by. I know we want Louisiana on everything, but we need to start promoting Acadiana to draw in the locals from the surrounding area.

    4. Parking!! We have a RV lot that is always half way full with RV’s but we are not going to allow average folks to park in the NEZ parking area. Same goes for parking on the home side at Cajun Field you have vast amounts of parking on the home side, but it’s never really full. No instead we will charge average fans 10 bucks to park on the other side of Congress near the Hilton Gardens and Suites, and make them park at Blackham Coliseum. Good way to drive out the average fan. Like we keep pushing them farther from the stadium.

    5. Winning Games! When you get demolished against Miss St, and Bama, and lose against CCU. The only wins you have is against Grambling, and Texas St. doesn’t bold well for the average football fan.

So here is my top 5 reasons why attendance sucks at UL and the University better wise up.
As far as No. 3 is concerned, there were events throughout the summer in surrounding communities. There are no people assigned to increasing support in those areas.

As far as scheduling is concerned, many of those teams have refused to play us. Going forward that will improve as Rice is on the schedule and I would not be surprised if USM returns to schedule soon. As far as game time goes, TV sets those 10 days in advance so it is hard to play around.
I do think we need to do more to consider folks who have financial issues. The McDonald's family fun pack is something more could take advantage of.
